Travel with children to Thailand

Children & Travel in Thailand

Have you ever intended to go travel with your child? Is it boy or girl? Whether having any obstruction or not?
I think going travel with children is so exciting. Thinking of place where you will go; for example Thailand. It is good choice because Thais are fond of children. If you are European and having lovely children with blond yellow hair, surely you will be received much more attention than others. People find it difference, sometimes they glare at you but do not worry, and it is just friendly. And the difference in language is not a problem because the children find it easy to make friend.
Especially in Bangkok, you can bring your child in your back, no need to use the baby strollers and travelling around. There is no harm but remember that to keep away from dogs and monkeys or any rabies if they are risk in Thailand.
The weather is rather intense with sun shine, therefore wearing hats or applying sun block cream will be ideal for your family especially children. In order to avoid illness, frequently washing your hand and children’s hand because the children is so dynamic and they like picking anything to their mouth.

So, it is not difficult to travel with children, do not forget the above mentioned idea and safe is the top. Good luck with your choice!

The historical park of Ayuthaya-done

Thailand is not only famous for hotel but also religiousness. If you are interested in old ruins and ancient Buddhist temples, Ayutthaya will attract you also. Ayutthaya was constructed on an island having four rivers around. Old ruins are seen everywhere, especially on the island’s western. Hundreds of old temples indeed are be scattered in villages in the city.

400 years ago, the plain region central of Thailand was dominated by Ayutthaya and it was founded in 1350 BC King Ramathibodi. This was a powerful country especially in commerce aspect, it trades with such countries as China, Dutch and France. It was monasteries, canals and monuments that make the magnificent of this city.

Nearby the Kingdom of Burna was competitor of Ayutthaya leading to frequently wars. In 1569, the first war was happened and Thai city was arrested by King Bayinnaung of Burma and after one decade, it was freedom. In that battles, Prince Naresuan was the leader and after defeating the Crown Prince of Burma the battle, he became one of the greatest heroes in Thailand. However, unfortunately that city was once again in war in 18th century, a range of battles between Burma and Vietnam happened. In the end, there was thirty three monarchs of various dynasties became the king who created a lot of architectural for Thailand.

Ayutthaya Historical Park is recognized as the Heritage Site in the world by UNESCO. This park includes a great deal of ruins of temples, religious shrines, pavilions and palaces spreading inside the park. About the location, it locates in the North of Bangkok and the distance is 80 kilometers. We can travel by boat, car and train. In December annually, people organize some festivals to celebrate the glory. Traditional culture and different entertainments are reminded and displayed. We can see the light and memorable sound in the ancient ruins and temples of Ayutthaya.

If I have a chance, I will visit Ayutthaya to see all ancient beauty of this area.

Standing in the third top in Time magazine in Asia destinations, Thailand has more than 10 million travelers in 2002.  But most of them just go for travelling not finding the social customs. But I think if you know the customs, it will easier for you. For instance, it is cleverer to carry a baby mounted in the back-or-chest than a baby stroller when walking the street of Bangkok. It will not feel comfortable to point your feet at people or in any object. Therefore, in order to avoid making mistake, finding the information in advance and then travelling.

You can search information on the site: Travel-to-thailand.net. Many useful things about travelling guidelines is available for you. All your questions will be answered and you will see the question and answer of other those who want to travel to Thailand for the first time. Koh Phangan(Phangan Island)

If Phu Quoc is famous for Phu Quoc Island, Thailand has Koh Phangan. This is considered as the perfect place for honey moon where both young Thailand and foreigner tourists become quite inebriated and lively party. The party is celebrated at Had Rin, a beach on the southern tip of this island.

This Koh Phangan is not only famous for “full Honey Moon” but also impressed by the nature and clear waters, the beach is so beautiful, the back of the beach rises to a number of outdoor activities compositing of skin driving, scuba diving, watching bird and observing the local folk’s lifestyle.

Before being as the perfect place for honey moon, this island is known as the local tourist because of its natural beauty. Rama V who was the king in Thailand from the late 19th century to early 20th century visited this island on 14 occasions, like Than Sadet Waterfall. It is said that the King forbidden mankind to hunt the deer on this island so nobody dares to hunt. Nowadays, deer roams a lots of.

It is hard to tell all the beauty as well as expression of this island through some words. It is fact experience that make you understand all the beauty here.

Jim Thompson’s House

I will introduce you another travel spot in Thailand that is the Thai traditional house.
This is an example of fact Thai traditional house. This house is impressed by the collection of Southeast Asian art. It is located at the end of a small street can be looked through Saen Saeb canal. The owner of this house is of an American silk businessman named Jim Thompson. He is the person who introduce Thai silk to the West. From this picture, you can see the image of this traditional house.

Now I will talk about some characteristic of Jim Thompson. He was a New York architect, his job was at the Office of Strategic Services (forerunner of CIA) in Thailand throughout the Second World War. After the war, he made decision to live in Bangkok and decided to develop Thai silk into international product. He sent the sample silk to the fashion shop in Europe, created a familiar customers in the world.

His house was made by teak that is under Thai style, six traditional houses were comprised in the house and be purchased from various owners from many areas in Thailand. The house was completed in 1959 and it became the most traditional house in Thailand. It created a unique collection and artworks in Thailand and for many traveler from other countries in Southeast Asia. Some items which were the best are blue and white Ming porcelain, the 19th century Vessantara Jataka paintings and the 6th century Dvaravati Buddha image in the garden. They are believed to be one of the most ancient Buddha status that survives in the world.

Jim Thompson disappeared mysteriously while he walked in the Cameron Highlands in Malaysia in 1967. His great business and this traditional house are left for historical remain in Thailand.

I will come to Thailand to visit his traditional house and know about it.

How tobe protected in Thailand

Robbers are everywhere especially travel place. So we must never forget to be carefully. Using credit card is a way to keep safe for your money. However, vigilance will be the most necessity to protect you.

Followings are some behavior tips for you when travel to other countries. Normally, the shops will not refund your money if you buy their products, take them to your home and return them for money. Therefore, the best way is to check carefully the goods or products to avoid faulty ones. If they are electronic equipment, do not hesitate to require to plug in and see it working. However, in some shops, if you keep the receipt, you will be exchanged the goods within 7 days of purchase.

It will not be applied if you buy the goods in market vendor. If the sellers do not remember your face, surely they never let you to exchange the goods. In this case, there is no way but checking carefully your goods.
One more interesting thing that you will see if you travel to Thailand is that Thailand has its con artists. There are no government shops, so avoid to buy unrealistic deals on gems and jewelry. If they treat you, tell it to the travelling police. The hotline is 1155, extension 1.

Above things are just alarm for you. Beside these disadvantages, there are many other interesting things waiting for you in Thailand trip.

Dining in Thailand

People often say that Thai food is rather spicy. In fact I have never had a chance to enjoy it. But now I will find the food in Thailand.
The service in large Thai hotels and international restaurants is good however mistake sometimes can happen. If you want to order the food, you should ask the waiver to clearly write down and repeat it when you finish to order. The group of friend or couple should come at the same time and then order the food. Always ask the waivers anytime you find it amiss.
When you receive the bill, require to be explained if having any unclear. And if you have special taste, tell waiver the following useful expression:
Mai sai prik. = No chili.
Mai aow ped. = I don’t want it spicy.
Nee mai chai kong pom. = This isn’t mine.
(Dish) mai dai. = I haven’t received (dish).
Kep tang/Check bin, khrap/kha. = The bill, please.

Common words in Thai menu
Pad (eg. Pad Thai) = stir fried
Ping, Yang (eg. Moo Ping or Moo yang) = grilled
Tom Yam = spicy sour soup
Kaeng (eg. Kaeng Khiew Waan) = spicy soup with coconut milk
Kao = rice
Kuay-Teow = noodles
Moo = pork
Gai = chicken
Nuea = beef
Pla = fish
Kung = shrimp
Luk-chin = meatballs

Useful expressions in the restaurant:
Mai Sai Prik = no chili
Mai Aow Ped = I don’t want it spicy
Nee Mai Chai Khong Phom/ Di-chan (for men/women) = This isn’t mine
Yang mai dai..(dish) = I haven’t received..
Kep tang/Check bin, krap/kha (for men/women) = The bill, please.
Khem/ Waan/ Ped/ Pruew mak pai = too salty/ sweet/ spicy/ sour.

For some basic above expressions, I think there is no longer mistake if you order food in Thailand’s restaurant.

Damnern Saduak Floating Market

Vietnam is famous for the floating house in some Western area and Thailand also has the colorful floating markets where you must see when travelling in Thailand. The most popular floating market is the Damnoen Saduak in Ratchaburi. You will be amazed when you see the labyrinthine of small canals, the boats are mainly made by wooden. One impressed thing is that the boatman is female not man worn the traditional farmer’s shirt and straw-hats.
Although this is not strange to many people, it is still attractive by the selling and buying way which is traditional. Main goods are fruits and vegetables. Buyer and seller trades by boat and this is a common life way of Thai people. However, 20 years ago, this trade was ceased when almost canals were clogged with roads. Many small floating markets are now being restored because many tourists are attracted.
The time for this trade is from 6 am to around 9:30 am therefore the vegetables, foods and fruits are so fresh. It creates a fresh space morning on the water and the tourist will have chance to try delicious Thai food.
Besides this type of market, one more attracting point is the lush green orchards and palm trees. If you want to experience the purchase on the boat or explore the village, local boat is available for you to rent.
The Damnoen Saduak floating market is in the south of Bangkok and it will take you 1 hour to drive to this place.
If you travel to Thailand, do not ignore this destination. Come and compare the difference between the life on boat in Vietnam and in Thailand.
